Neuroplasticity

Sharing some Information and Thoughts on Head and Brain Injury

Neuroplasticity can be viewed as a general umbrella term that refers tothe brain’s ability to modify, change, and adapt both structure and function throughout life and in response to experience.

Neuroplasticity, also known as neural plasticity, or brain plasticity, is the ability of neural networks in the brain to change through growth and reorganization. It is when the brain is rewired to function in some way that differs from how it previously functioned.

It’s like a rewiring “job”: When the brain finds a neural pathway blocked (following brain damage and/or stroke) it (subconsciously) works at finding a new route to get to the desired destination.

Think I wrote about this somewhere on one of my many blogs on this subject
